ETH Latam Brazil 🇧🇷

The first edition of ETH Latam took place in August 2022, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was a three-day conference that hosted more than 60 speakers and 4,000 attendees. This event was a turning point for the Argentine community, as it was the first Ethereum-exclusive conference in a country with thousands of builders and users across its territory.
Just two months later, fueled by the #RoadToDevcon—a campaign that became the guiding thread for a series of meetups and self-organized events by communities across several Latin American countries—we continued our journey to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. The second edition of ETH Latam took place in that city one day before Devcon VI. This edition brought us a new understanding of the challenges of adoption, the number of Latin Americans working on Ethereum protocols and platforms, and all that remained to be built after Devcon’s passage through the region.
In 2023, we began planning the third edition, which materialized in March 2024 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The choice of this location aimed to geographically decentralize the organization of a major Ethereum event and to highlight Central America, a region that grows year after year. The challenges of this organization provided us with new perspectives on audiences and adoption. After the third edition, we reaffirmed our commitment to Ethereum’s growth in Latin America.
ETH Latam has always been envisioned as an itinerant event. Today, we take another step, another block in the chain: the next edition of ETH Latam will be held in Brazil, the South American giant. Although the exact city has not yet been decided, we are currently engaging in a co-creation process with key stakeholders in this country. This collaborative approach reflects our vision to build an event that resonates with the diversity and innovative spirit of local communities, adapting ETH Latam to maximize its impact in a country as vast and diverse as Brazil.

Why Brazil?

Brazil is a country with vibrant energy and an innovative tech community that has shown growing interest in Ethereum and blockchain in general. Its size, diversity, and dynamism make it the ideal setting to take ETH Latam to the next level.
The volume of cryptocurrency transactions has grown significantly in 2024, with Brazil leading the region in operations. Additionally, hundreds of builders participate monthly in hackathons and on-chain developments.
At ETH Kipu, we believe that Brazil’s culture of collaboration, combined with its strong adoption of new technologies, offers a unique opportunity to strengthen the ecosystem and connect more people with the tools and principles that Ethereum provides to transform industries, promote inclusion, and build open and fair digital infrastructures.
Brazil is an epicenter of creativity, resilience, and innovation. It’s a country where Ethereum technology has the potential to become a transformative tool, empowering thousands of people and projects.
We see the fourth edition of ETH Latam Brazil as a unique platform to catalyze collaboration and creativity, bringing together individuals and organizations to advance Ethereum’s path in the region.
